Even I can’t believe how long it’s been since I wrote in this blog. Long like the entire season of Lent. I guess I should have just said back on Ash Wednesday that I was giving up blogging for Lent; then I'd end up looking all spiritual and virtuous. But of course, that’s not what happened. I didn’t give it up in any laudable attempt at spiritual simplicity (much less a spiritual attempt at simple laudability). I just didn’t have the right combination of time and energy—mine or Senelec’s—during this past, well, nearly forty days.
So here’s what I’m thinking: in the next
few days, I’d like to take a look back at last two months—February, the month
of Visitors, and March, the month of Meetings. After that, this particular
Lutheran in Senegal will try to live in, and report on the present, with an eye
toward the immediate and more long-term future that’s been starting to unfold for
quite a while within our modest participation in the missio Dei here.
Thanks, as always, for your patience and understanding.
